Aadhaar Authentication Mandatory for LPG Subsidy from October 1

The Indian government has made Biometric Aadhaar Authentication (BAA) mandatory for LPG consumers seeking subsidised cylinder refills, effective October 1. Consumers who skip the authentication process will not be barred from receiving LPG cylinders altogether. However, those who do not complete the BAA will be required to pay the full market price for their refills. Only consumers who complete the Aadhaar authentication will remain eligible to receive the government subsidy on LPG cylinders.
