Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Warns Celebrities Over Surrogate Ad Violations

Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe has taken a firm stance against Bollywood actors appearing in surrogate advertisements, stating that fame does not exempt anyone from legal accountability. The FDA had issued show-cause notices to three actors found to be in violation of advertising regulations. As of the interview with NDTV, two of the three actors have responded to the notices. Mundhe emphasized that all individuals, regardless of celebrity status, are equal under the law when it comes to surrogate advertising rules.
