Madras High Court Bans Media From Airing Audio-Visual Evidence in Veeramani Abuse Case

The Madras High Court has ordered a ban on broadcasting any audio or video material related to the sexual abuse case against R. Veeramani, 84, founder of the Chennai-based GEM Group of Companies. Veeramani was arrested on 29 August alongside two associates, Mahendra Simhan and Shanthi, in connection with the alleged offences. The accused are alleged to have carried out the acts at a rented property in the Teynampet area of Chennai. Veeramani's two associates are accused of facilitating the alleged crimes. The court's directive aims to restrict media coverage of sensitive evidence tied to the ongoing case.
