Red Tape fined Rs 26,000 by Gurugram consumer commission over Rs 30 bag charge

A consumer commission in Gurugram has ruled against footwear brand Red Tape for charging a customer Rs 30 for three shopping bags. The commission deemed the practice an unfair trade practice and a deficiency in service. Red Tape was directed to refund the original amount charged for the bags. Additionally, the company was ordered to pay compensation totalling Rs 26,000, which includes Rs 15,000 specifically for causing mental harassment to the customer.
