Lincoln's 16th-Century Wonky House Saved From Demolition Gets Major Restoration

A 16th-century timber-framed building in Lincoln, known as the Wonky House, was nearly torn down during a demolition project in 1933 before its historic structure was discovered. The hidden timber frame proved instrumental in saving the building from destruction. Over the years, the property suffered damage from death-watch beetles and substandard repair work, necessitating conservation efforts. Backed by significant funding, a major restoration project is now underway to address this damage. Once complete, the building will offer holiday accommodation and community spaces, opening its storied history to the public.
