18 villagers injured in cross-border firing along Assam-Arunachal border

Eighteen villagers in Assam's Dhemaji district were injured after gunfire erupted from across the border in Arunachal Pradesh. Four of the injured are reported to be in critical condition. Flooding in Assam has claimed 100 lives and affected more than 1.3 lakh people across the state. The disaster has spread across ten districts, including Golaghat, Sivasagar, Hojai, Darrang, and Lakhimpur. Other badly hit areas include Jorhat, Karbi Anglong, Charaideo, Nagaon, and Biswanath. The widespread inundation has displaced a large number of residents and caused significant disruption across the region.
