LA's 150-Year-Old Perry Mansion Opens Rare Second Floor for Anniversary

Los Angeles' Perry Mansion marked its 150th anniversary by granting visitors access to its normally closed second floor. The Victorian residence was originally built in 1876 for businessman William Hayes Perry. Preservationists rescued the structure from demolition in 1975 and relocated it to Heritage Square Museum. The special opening allowed guests to view well-preserved 19th-century rooms. Funds collected during the event will go toward ongoing structural conservation of the historic wooden building.
