Blockchain finance platform Theo has launched thSLVR, a new tokenized silver product backed by $40 million in active metal leases. The token is designed to give investors ongoing exposure to silver prices while simultaneously generating income. This income is derived from lending the physical silver to institutional borrowers. Bolivia's VIVA Telecom Adopts Avalanche Blockchain for Financial Operations

Bolivian telecom operator VIVA is integrating blockchain technology into parts of its financial infrastructure using the Avalanche network. Evin McMullen, CEO and co-founder of Billions, warns that the digital infrastructure being built today creates dangerous concentrations of sensitive data. Unlike stolen cryptocurrency, which can potentially be recovered or replaced, a compromised identity cannot be undone. McMullen argues that these centralized data repositories, often called honeypots, are inherently vulnerable to exploitation. The concern is magnified by the imminent rollout of AI agents to billions of users, who would inherit the same flawed data architecture. Without a fundamental rethink of how identity and data are stored, the risks of irreversible privacy breaches will grow exponentially.
