Jaishankar Urges Maritime Law Compliance, Diplomacy to Resolve West Asia Crisis

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar addressed the East Asia Summit, emphasizing the need to uphold maritime law and ensure safe navigation of sea lanes. He called for diplomatic solutions to ongoing crises in West Asia, warning that global conflicts disproportionately harm economies of the Global South. Jaishankar also voiced India's support for a substantive Code of Conduct governing the South China Sea. On the sidelines of the summit, he held bilateral meetings with leaders from Oman, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.

12 Charged in $2M Nike Shoe Theft Scheme at Memphis Warehouse

US federal prosecutors have charged 12 individuals in connection with an alleged theft scheme targeting Nike's Memphis logistics centre. The suspects are accused of using unauthorised UPS shipping labels to divert thousands of cartons of Nike shoes away from their intended destination. The redirected shipments, worth at least $2 million, were allegedly sent to resellers across the United States. The charges have been laid out in a formal indictment, and the case is set to be tested in court.
