Kerala HC Restores Foreign Funding Licences of Two NGOs, Questions Centre

The Kerala High Court has restored the foreign funding licences of two NGOs while raising questions directed at the central government. The cases were brought by Kerala Social Service Forum, a Kottayam-based body that coordinates 32 Catholic Diocesan Social Service Societies, and Save A Family Plan India, a charitable trust based in Kanjoor, Ernakulam. Both organisations had their Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) licences cancelled or suspended by the Centre. The court's intervention signals judicial scrutiny over the government's handling of foreign funding permissions for civil society organisations.
