Kerala approves PMAY-U 2.0, unlocking Rs 450 crore aid for 30,000 beneficiaries

Kerala's Cabinet has given its approval to the second phase of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U 2.0) scheme. The move is set to benefit approximately 30,000 eligible residents who will each receive up to Rs 4 lakh in housing assistance. To access the Rs 450 crore in central funding, the state government will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Union government. Meanwhile, the first phase of the urban housing scheme is expected to be completed by September 2026.
