Jaswant Singh Khalra: The Activist Who Exposed Punjab's Secret Cremations

Jaswant Singh Khalra was a human rights activist who investigated and documented illegal cremations and enforced disappearances carried out by the Punjab Police during the state's militancy period. His work brought to light the fate of hundreds of individuals who had gone missing in police custody. Khalra was himself abducted and killed, allegedly by Punjab Police, as a consequence of his activism. His wife, Paramjit Kaur Khalra, has spent decades fighting for justice in his case and for the victims he sought to represent.
