J&K Seals Martyrs' Graveyard; Omar, Mehbooba Forced to Mourn at Party Offices

Jammu & Kashmir authorities sealed the Martyrs' Graveyard in Srinagar on Monday, barring political leaders from paying homage at the site. Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti were compelled to hold tribute ceremonies at their respective party offices instead. Last year, Omar had managed to reach the graveyard by bypassing security barricades. The administration had previously removed July 13 and December 5 from the list of public holidays following the abrogation of Article 370 in January 2020. The restrictions reflect continued curbs on commemorations tied to pre-abrogation Kashmiri political traditions.
