FSSAI Bans Plastic Packaging for Pan Masala, Mandates Tin or Glass Only

India's food safety authority has prohibited the use of plastic materials in the packaging of pan masala products. The ban covers a wide range of plastics, including polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, PVC, synthetic polymers, copolymers, and laminates. Manufacturers will now be required to use only tin or glass containers for packaging pan masala. The move is aimed at reducing plastic use in food-contact materials and improving packaging safety standards.
