Indonesia has recorded more than 170,000 respiratory illness cases as the country continues to suffer from heavy haze conditions. The reported cases span a wide range of severity, from mild coughs to serious conditions such as pneumonia. Children under the age of five are among the most affected, accounting for over 40,000 of the total cases. The haze has created a significant public health emergency, placing particular strain on the country's most vulnerable population.
