A Nepali worker named Sanjay Sah was rescued after spending nine days trapped inside a tunnel following a devastating flash flood. Sah had voluntarily stayed behind to help others escape before becoming trapped himself. During his ordeal in complete darkness, he sustained himself by chanting the Hare Krishna mantra and communicating with a handful of nearby workers. The disaster was triggered by an ice-rock avalanche that caused flash floods, destroying towns and villages in the upstream area. Two workers have been rescued alive so far, while search operations remain ongoing for others still missing.
