India Fast-Tracks Zorawar Light Tank Approval to Support L&T and DRDO Effort

India's Defence Secretary has indicated that the government is expediting the approval process for the Zorawar light tank to maintain industry momentum. The tank was jointly developed by DRDO's Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE) and private defence firm Larsen & Toubro. L&T was responsible for system integration, while multiple MSMEs contributed by supplying key subsystems. The fast-tracking move signals the government's intent to sustain confidence among domestic defence manufacturers involved in the programme.
