India has surpassed 300 GW of non-fossil fuel electricity generation capacity, marking a major milestone in its clean energy transition. This figure now accounts for more than half of the country's total installed power capacity. Solar energy has been the primary driver of this growth, with wind and hydropower also contributing significantly. The government has set an ambitious target of reaching 500 GW of non-fossil capacity by 2030.
