India Approves Rs 2,077 Crore Highway Project Near Siliguri Corridor Along Nepal Border

India has approved a Rs 2,077 crore infrastructure project to develop a four-lane highway near the Siliguri Corridor, a strategically critical stretch commonly known as the Chicken's Neck. The project spans from Galgalia to Bagdogra, running close to the Nepal border and providing an alternate route through the region. The highway will merge with National Highway 27 near Bagdogra Airport upon completion. The airport itself is also set to receive a new passenger terminal capable of handling 3,000 passengers during peak hours, further boosting connectivity in the area.
