Connecticut town to redevelop contaminated mill site into park and civic campus

New Milford, Connecticut, is planning to transform a former brass mill site spanning 66 acres into a municipal campus and riverside park. The town gained ownership of the contaminated property following a prolonged legal dispute. Redevelopment plans include a fire-training tower built from repurposed shipping containers. Relocating public works facilities from the site will open up additional land for green space along the river.
