Hubble spots four previously hidden white dwarfs just 65 light-years away

Astronomers have confirmed the existence of four white dwarf stars orbiting nearby red dwarf companions, located approximately 65 light-years from Earth. The discovery was made possible through ultraviolet observations by the Hubble Space Telescope, which revealed the stellar remnants that had long been obscured by their brighter companion stars. Because white dwarfs emit strongly in ultraviolet light, Hubble's capabilities proved essential in distinguishing them from the red dwarfs they orbit.
