Trustample, an AI-powered audio and video transcription platform, discovered a critical blind spot when a user's recording was processed in the wrong language, producing an almost empty transcript with no system error triggered. Unlike conventional software, AI models are designed to always return an output, meaning a speech recogniser processing Spanish audio as English will silently deliver a near-meaningless result that looks identical to a successful one. This silent failure mode went undetected by error monitoring because, technically, the pipeline completed its task without fault.
