A woman named Kaur had initially drafted a Will leaving her house to her younger sister, but later changed her decision. On February 15, 2008, Kaur formally revoked her first Will, redirecting the property to her adopted daughter instead. Her brother, who lived nearby, had been regularly visiting and caring for her as she aged. The dispute over the property's rightful heir was subsequently brought before the High Court. The HC ruled in favour of the second Will, upholding the adopted daughter's claim to the property.
