MINDTRACE AI: A Browser Detective Game Powered by a Local Open-Weight Model

A developer has built MINDTRACE AI, a browser-based detective mystery in which players investigate a crime aboard a train by visiting five locations, collecting clues, and interrogating three suspects. The suspects' replies are generated by Gemma 4 running locally through Ollama, while the game's core logic keeps the culprit, timeline, and evidence fixed. Scripted fallback dialogue lets players continue if the local model is unavailable. The project was made for Hacktoberfest Week 3 and uses Python, Flask, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Pytest. The developer says running an open-weight model locally reduces reliance on paid hosted AI APIs and gives developers more control over the model they use.

CampusCopilot: An Open AI Workspace for Connecting Student Study and Coding Practice

A student-built project called CampusCopilot brings DSA practice, coding error explanations, study materials, assignments, and exam planning into one connected workspace. Its StudyBuddy feature answers questions about uploaded materials and offers quizzes, while CodeExplain breaks down coding errors and suggests what to learn next. A Campus Planner organizes tasks and schedules, and a Learning Profile tracks strengths and weak areas to recommend next steps. The app supports local AI inference via Llama 3.1 8B through Ollama, giving users more control over their data, and a Demo Mode is available for exploration without a local setup.

FightNome aligns recorded voice callouts to the beat in its boxing training app

The developers of FightNome, a boxing training app, describe how it calls out strikes aloud while users shadowbox or work pads. Workouts run from 74 to 128 BPM, and the music is a single track time-stretched to match each tempo so the beat grid stays in sync. Each callout is a separate recording of a real voice saying one word, and each one starts 40 to 60 ms early so the word lands on the beat. The app has two modes, combo mode that repeats user-built sequences and reaction mode that picks random words at 6 to 45 calls a minute. The post notes that output latency varies across phone speakers, wired earbuds and Bluetooth headphones, so a fixed head start is only a compromise.

46 views, zero sales: UTM tracking revealed most traffic never came from published links

A creator selling delivery templates saw 46 storefront views and no sales over five days, initially treating it as a conversion problem. Breaking the views down by product showed traffic spread almost evenly across fourteen pages, with the flagship kit receiving just one view, a pattern that looked more like automated browsing than real customers. Most visits arrived with no referrer, and 40 came from a single country. The author recognized that both the 'real readers' and 'automated traffic' explanations fit the data equally well, so no future number could settle the question. Adding UTM parameters to the two links in their published article then showed only two clicks came from those links, indicating the other 44 views did not originate from anything they had written.
