Gemini Chats Now Let Users Generate and Edit Google Docs and Other Files

Google has added file editing to Gemini, letting users create, preview, and modify PDFs, Google Docs, Sheets, slide decks, Markdown and TXT files, and code within chats. The feature is rolling out starting now to all Gemini users. PDF previewing and editing works on both web and mobile, while other formats are currently limited to the web version. Earlier this year Google had introduced file generation and downloads in Gemini, and this update allows those files to be refined without leaving the app. Users can also expand documents to full screen and highlight text to ask Gemini targeted questions.
