Ganges Grandmasters and APL Pipers both strengthened their Global Chess League final prospects with commanding Day 7 victories, each reaching 18 match points. Ganges Grandmasters delivered a dominant 16-1 defeat of Mumba Masters, while APL Pipers edged American Gambits 9-7. World champion Magnus Carlsen won his individual match against Javokhir Sindarov and chose to present his Player of the Match trophy to teammate Vidit Gujrathi. Ganges Grandmasters currently hold the advantage over Pipers on game points. American Gambits remain in contention but now require a win combined with results going in their favour.
