Free tool resizes images for WhatsApp without uploading data

A developer has created a free online tool named WaSize to address WhatsApp's specific image requirements. The tool processes images locally within a user's browser, ensuring user photos are never uploaded to an external server. It offers presets for different WhatsApp features, such as profile pictures, status updates, and stickers, which require precise dimensions. This simplifies a process that typically involves manual resizing and compression. The tool was built because WhatsApp often crops or rejects images without clearly stating its formatting rules.

Why Android AI agents often fail after development testing

Android accessibility-based AI agents frequently malfunction in production despite working in development. A key issue is that users must manually enable the necessary accessibility permission in system settings, which many will not do. The structure of the accessibility tree also varies significantly across different device manufacturers like Samsung and Xiaomi, breaking agent functionality. Furthermore, app updates can silently change interface elements, causing agents to fail without clear error signals.

Sites mistakenly block AI crawlers that could cite their content, developers advised

Many websites inadvertently block AI search crawlers due to outdated robots.txt rules copied during earlier AI-blocking trends. Developers are advised to audit their current robots.txt files and server logs to identify which AI crawlers are being blocked. Key AI providers like OpenAI and Anthropic operate separate crawlers for training models, search indexing, and user-triggered page visits. Blocking search crawlers can prevent a site's content from being cited in AI assistant answers, while blocking training crawlers is a content policy choice. A common approach is to allow search and user-triggered crawlers while disallowing training crawlers, but developers should verify current user agents from official provider documentation.

Google dispels AI SEO myths, data shows special markup largely ineffective

Google's May 2026 guide for AI search optimization stated that special files, markup, or schema are not required. Multiple data analyses from Ahrefs, SE Ranking, and others found that AI-specific files like llms.txt receive almost no traffic and show no correlation with AI citations. A Washington University study further indicated that AI citations often come from sources outside traditional top search results, driven more by credibility than markup. Google emphasizes that standard technical SEO and high-quality content remain the primary factors for appearing in AI features.

Kafkactl CLI tool offers kubectl-style commands for Kafka management

Kafkactl is a command-line tool designed for Apache Kafka management using a verb-first command style similar to kubectl. It provides functionality for producing, consuming, and managing topics, consumer groups, offsets, and ACLs through a single binary. The tool organizes Kafka clusters as named contexts stored in a YAML configuration file, allowing users to easily switch between different environments. It supports multiple installation methods including Homebrew, winget, Docker, and direct binary downloads. The article compares kafkactl with other Kafka CLI tools and notes some limitations, including the need for plugins for AWS MSK IAM authentication and local files for Protobuf decoding.
