The Twin Chimneys Motor Court in Cheyenne, Wyoming, was demolished this week after nearly nine decades of existence. The structure was notable for its distinctive twin stone chimneys, which had long served as a recognizable landmark along the historic Lincoln Highway. The demolition was swift, with the iconic chimneys coming down in approximately 30 seconds. The cleared site is set to be redeveloped as a 7 Brew Coffee drive-thru outlet, marking the permanent end of the once-popular roadside motor court.

Los Angeles' Perry Mansion marked its 150th anniversary by granting visitors access to its normally closed second floor. The Victorian residence was originally built in 1876 for businessman William Hayes Perry. Preservationists rescued the structure from demolition in 1975 and relocated it to Heritage Square Museum. The special opening allowed guests to view well-preserved 19th-century rooms. Funds collected during the event will go toward ongoing structural conservation of the historic wooden building.
