UK finds no record of obligation on 1917 Indian war loan held by Bhopal family

The UK's Debt Management Office has said it found no evidence that a 1917 Indian War Loan was ever a British government obligation. The loan was bought by a Bhopal merchant for Rs 35,000. A family from Sehore, which now holds the century-old certificate, is seeking an accounting of its repayment. They estimate the certificate's current value at several crores. The DMO has not stated whether the loan was ever repaid.

Houthi Missile Strike on Shabwa Training Camp Kills at Least 20 Yemeni Fighters

A Houthi missile attack on a military training camp in Shabwa province killed at least 20 coalition fighters, according to military officials.
