Four Assam Police Suspended After Ambulance Halts for CM Convoy

Four traffic police personnel in Silchar, Assam, have been suspended. Their suspension follows an incident where they halted an ambulance to clear a path for Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's convoy. The ambulance was transporting a critically ill patient to the hospital at the time. CM Sarma subsequently apologized to the patient's family and stated that emergency medical care must take precedence over VIP movements. He also stressed the need to properly implement existing convoy guidelines.
