Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to a trilateral defense agreement with Saudi Arabia and Turkiye, which obligates member states to collectively deter armed attacks. The statement came after Saudi Arabia reported intercepting a Houthi drone near Mecca, an incident the Houthis have denied. Pakistani officials stressed there is no ambiguity in their obligations under the pact, particularly regarding the protection of Muslim holy sites. Pakistan indicated it would consider defending the holy sites even outside the formal treaty framework. Islamabad also called for diplomatic efforts to prevent the regional tensions from escalating further.

Uddhav threatens legal action over Disha Salian probe targeting his family

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has warned of legal action against those running a campaign linking his family to the death of Disha Salian. Uddhav denied any family connection to the incident, calling the allegations politically motivated. His son Aaditya Thackeray also refuted claims of knowing or meeting Salian, terming the accusations character assassination. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut expressed support for the Thackeray family, citing public trust in them. The CBI has registered a case into Salian's death following a court directive.
