Florida man arrested for stealing $220,000 in crypto via malware-laced Steam games

Federal authorities have arrested 21-year-old Zyaire Wilkins of Florida on suspicion of stealing at least $220,000 in cryptocurrency through malware-embedded games. Wilkins and alleged co-conspirators are accused of publishing eight infected games between May 2024 and February 2026, believed to have been distributed via Valve's Steam platform. The malware reportedly compromised around 8,000 devices and gave the suspects access to approximately 80 crypto wallets. The FBI had previously issued a public call for victim information related to a Steam-linked scheme. A final court hearing in the case is scheduled for June.
