Researcher's five-month log reveals shifting patterns in AI credit reset signals

A developer logged public Codex API reset signals from late April to October 2026. Their initial assumption of a predictable quota cycle changed when 'banked resets'—unexpected credits unrelated to user activity—began appearing. The data showed distinct periods: initial long gaps, then frequent clustered signals, and finally a phase dominated by these irregular banked credits. This revealed that waiting for capacity became split between predictable refills and unpredictable external grants.

Critical Cisco SD-WAN Manager bug exploited, gives remote admin access

Cisco disclosed a critical authentication bypass flaw in its Catalyst SD-WAN Manager software on September 30, 2026. Developer outlines five key invariants for testing realtime kanban board backpressure handling

A developer outlines five essential invariants for properly testing realtime backpressure handling in shared kanban boards used by game studios. The approach focuses on making admission, ordering, and reconnect completion observable rather than relying on arbitrary time delays. Key principles include bounding admission queues to prevent memory growth, enforcing operation ordering per card, ensuring every operation has a terminal result, providing explicit reconnect snapshots, and maintaining clear presence lease policies. The method uses bounded Go queues and avoids unreliable synchronization methods like fixed sleep timers. Testing should expose actual system signals like channel receives or broker acknowledgements rather than guessing scheduler timing.
