Five AI Agent Governance Platforms Rated on Real-Time Control, Not Just Reporting

As autonomous AI agents become common in enterprise settings, governing what they can do, spend, and access has emerged as a critical challenge distinct from traditional software oversight. Unlike human users, AI agents hold credentials, call tools independently, and execute hundreds of actions without human clicks to audit. A 2025 Gartner poll of over 3,400 organizations predicted more than 40% of agentic AI projects will be canceled by end of 2027, citing escalating costs and weak risk controls as key factors. A Deloitte survey of 3,235 IT and business leaders across 24 countries found only 21% have a mature governance model for agentic AI in place. In 2026, five platforms — Bifrost, Microsoft Agent 365, Zenity, Arthur AI, and Credo AI — stand out for addressing governance across identity, authorization, spend limits, behavior monitoring, and audit evidence.
