Ex-OpenAI Researcher Launches Jev, an AI Model Designed Only to Classify and Score

Diogo Almeida, who claims to have co-invented ChatGPT, has launched a new AI model called Jev through his company TypeSafe AI. Unlike conventional large language models, Jev does not generate text; instead, it returns structured outputs such as classifications, scores, and probabilities. The model is built around three output types — Choice, Score, and Noul — designed for tasks like routing support tickets or evaluating inputs programmatically. TypeSafe AI describes Jev as the first model purpose-built for evaluation rather than conversation, with calibrated confidence scores attached to its answers. The model is available via an AI SDK provider and is positioned as a more predictable, type-safe alternative to using general-purpose chat models for classification workflows.
