Developer-built desktop ERD tool Schemity introduces a Context Map feature that derives bounded-context relationships automatically from a database schema's foreign keys, eliminating the need for hand-drawn diagrams. In traditional Domain-Driven Design workflows, context maps are typically created on whiteboards or in separate DSL files, which quickly become outdated as schemas evolve. Because no mechanism enforces synchronisation between a hand-maintained map and the actual schema, cross-context coupling tends to accumulate undetected, sometimes taking teams years to untangle during module extraction. Schemity addresses this by collapsing existing context views into single nodes and drawing directional arrows weighted by foreign key counts, so dependency direction and volume are visible at a glance.
