Elephant survives 55km flood sweep from Nagaland into Assam

A 53-year-old elephant was carried approximately 55 kilometres downstream after being swept away by severe floodwaters near the Assam-Nagaland border. The animal was transported through turbulent currents and rough terrain before eventually washing ashore in Assam. She sustained a leg injury and was in a state of exhaustion upon rescue. Veterinary teams have since been providing continuous medical attention to aid her recovery.
