ED Alleges TMC Spent Rs 160 Crore on Aircraft via Obscure Firm, Misused Funds

India's Enforcement Directorate has alleged that the Trinamool Congress party paid Rs 160 crore to a little-known company to purchase a jet and a helicopter. According to the ED, the party additionally paid Rs 187 crore in rental charges for the aircraft but failed to utilise the minimum guaranteed flight hours stipulated in the agreement. Despite having access to these aircraft, TMC allegedly spent a further Rs 149 crore chartering other aircraft separately. The ED's findings raise questions about financial mismanagement and possible misappropriation of funds by the party. The allegations form part of a broader investigation into the party's financial dealings.
