Developer Launches Trove, a Free Directory of Curated Learning Resources

A self-taught developer has launched Trove, a free online directory that helps users find quality learning resources across topics like programming, design, electronics, and drawing. The project was motivated by the creator's own frustrating experience of having no clear starting point when learning independently, and by a belief that cost should not be a barrier to education. Trove is a single-page, static website with no backend; all resources are stored in a JSON file, and anyone can contribute by editing it directly on GitHub, which automatically generates a pull request. Every listed resource was manually verified to be fully free before being included, with paid content removed in favor of genuine alternatives. The developer plans to grow Trove into a community-driven project and has started a Discord server to gather input on what resources and topics to add next.
