Developer Creates Steaming CSS Ramen Bowl for Frontend Art Challenge

A developer named Samiya built a detailed CSS illustration of a ramen bowl as part of the Frontend Challenge - Comfort Food Edition. The artwork recreates broth, noodles, toppings, steam, and chopsticks almost entirely using CSS properties such as gradients, border-radius, and transforms. The most technically challenging element was the noodles, which required six individually rotated and offset rounded shapes to mimic the look of real piled strands. Animated steam wisps were achieved using opacity, translation, and scale keyframes staggered across five elements to avoid a mechanical appearance. A small amount of JavaScript was permitted under the challenge rules and was used to randomize sesame seed placement and slightly vary steam animation timing on each page load.
