Developer Changes Mind on AI Assistants After Using One to Handle Business Cards

A developer who once dismissed AI assistants as unnecessary recently changed his view after attending a business networking event. After collecting multiple business cards, he faced the tedious task of manually sending personalized follow-up emails to each contact. He used a coding-based AI agent to photograph all the cards at once, extract names and email addresses, and draft individual emails through a voice-guided workflow. The assistant created drafts that he reviewed before approving, after which the emails were sent automatically — mimicking the experience of delegating to a human assistant.
