Developer Builds Functional Turing Machine Inside Minecraft Using Redstone

A software developer and longtime Minecraft player has constructed a working Turing machine entirely within the game using its redstone electrical system. The project combines foundational computer science theory with in-game mechanics, replicating the three core components of a Turing machine: a tape, a read/write head, and a transition table. Redstone components such as torches, repeaters, and comparators were used to build logic gates, memory cells, and a shift register. The builder chose a four-symbol alphabet to represent binary values, a blank symbol, and a spare, with memory cells storing four bits each.
