Developer Builds Fantasy Soccer App with AI in a Week, Then Tests Its Security Gaps

A developer used Claude Code to build FlashDraft, a multi-user fantasy soccer platform, in approximately one week, leveraging AI to generate database models, API routes, dashboards, and authentication flows. The app features three distinct user roles — site administrators, league commissioners, and members — each with different levels of access to leagues, rosters, trades, and private draft boards. While AI tools accelerated the build process significantly, the developer found that a functioning app does not automatically mean a secure one, particularly around authorization and access control. Incorrect permission boundaries could allow one user to view or modify another user's private data, even if both are authenticated. The developer subsequently tested the deployed app manually across multiple accounts and roles to identify authorization vulnerabilities before considering it complete.
