Delhi High Court Questions Police on Surveillance Norms at CJP Protest

The Delhi High Court raised concerns about whether proper surveillance norms were followed by police during a Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar. The court directed this question at Delhi Police as part of an ongoing legal proceeding. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the authorities, defended the police by stating that all protests at Jantar Mantar are routinely recorded and that no targeted surveillance took place. Mehta maintained that standard documentation procedures were followed and nothing beyond normal practice occurred. The matter continues to be examined by the court.
