Consumer Commission Orders Realty Firm to Pay Rs 60K/Month Over Sandalwood Deal

A consumer commission has directed a real estate company to pay Rs 60,000 per month to a customer after the firm failed to honour a lease agreement tied to a sandalwood plantation investment. The customer had invested Rs 17.5 lakh in 2023 to purchase agricultural land under the arrangement. The commission found the company in breach of its obligations and ruled in the customer's favour. In addition to the monthly lease payments, the firm was also ordered to pay compensation and litigation costs. The company has been given 45 days to comply with the commission's order.

Manipuri Musician Beaten to Death by Delhi Dhaba Staff Over Noise Complaint

A musician from Manipur was fatally assaulted by dhaba employees in Delhi after he complained about excessive noise. The dispute escalated rapidly, leading to a brutal attack on the victim in a nearby alleyway. The musician sustained critical injuries during the assault and later died while receiving medical treatment. CCTV footage captured the accused fleeing the scene shortly after the attack. Police have since arrested eight dhaba workers in connection with the incident.
