Decart Launches Lucy 2.5, an AI Tool That Edits Live Video Streams in Real Time

Decart AI last week released Lucy 2.5, an AI model capable of editing live video streams with under 40ms latency at 30 frames per second. Unlike traditional AI video tools that require prompting, rendering, and importing, Lucy 2.5 transforms frames in real time, meaning viewers see the edited output as it happens. The system achieves this speed through a proprietary inference stack using techniques such as low-bit quantization, dynamic sparse attention, and deep kernel fusion. To prevent gradual visual degradation during long streams, Lucy 2.5 uses a Self-Anchoring mechanism that periodically resets its reference frame from its own output. The tool supports eight editing modes including character replacement, virtual try-on, background swapping, and visual effects, targeting use cases such as VTubing, live commerce, and ad production.
