Cumbria Woodland Restoration Project Draws 11 New Bird Species After 60,000 Trees Planted

A large-scale upland restoration effort in Cumbria, England, has been reviving a historically sheep-grazed landscape by planting native trees to reawaken dormant seed banks. Since the project began in 2016, eleven new breeding bird species have been recorded in the area. The initiative has also contributed to natural flood management in the region.
