Class Action Suit Accuses Anthropic of Misleading Claude Max Subscribers

A group of Claude subscribers has filed an expanded class action lawsuit against Anthropic, alleging the company deceptively advertised the capabilities and limits of its Max subscription tier. The plaintiffs claim they were misled into believing the premium plan would deliver more value than it actually provided. The lawsuit was filed by attorneys Monica Vaca and Kati Daffan, both former Federal Trade Commission officials who served under Lina Khan. The case is considered a rare legal effort to hold an AI company accountable for allegedly misleading paying customers. Anthropic has previously stated that power users are a priority segment of its business.
