Prabhas Mondal, the prime accused in the Baruipur rape and murder case, was killed in a police encounter in West Bengal. The incident occurred while officers were conducting a crime scene reconstruction with Mondal present. During the reconstruction, Mondal allegedly attempted to seize a firearm from one of the officers. He then opened fire on the police team, prompting retaliatory gunfire from officers. Mondal was subsequently taken to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
