Canva launches Craft, its first AI image model that plans designs before generating

Canva has released Craft, its first image generation model, positioning it against offerings from OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google. The model uses a two-stage design that first plans a layout before producing the image, which the company says improves precision, consistency, and control. Craft can output images at up to 2K resolution across more than 30 aspect ratios. It is aimed at social media and marketing content, but also supports realistic scenes, digital art, and environmental imagery. The announcement was made Thursday.
